Day 5
So today was a tough one for everyone.
When we arrived at the NICU to visit Jemma, the doctor rushed in to see us. The brain scans from the night before had revealed a brain bleed. They categorize brain bleeds from a 1 to a 4, with 4 being the most severe. Jemma has been classified at a Category 3. Everyone was surprised at this result since she didn't show any outward signs of this bleeding.
Later that day she got a blood infusion for platelets.
And now for the good stuff!
Dad was able to cuddle for the first time. And even got to sneak in 1 hour and 3 minutes of it!
